The Glory Road of the Romanian Army in the World War First

The Territorial Administrative Unit Vrancea County, as the beneficiary of the financing contract, has completed the implementation of the project “The Glory Road of the Romanian Army in the World War First”, financed through the contract concluded with the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration as Managing Authority and South-East Regional Development Agency as the Intermediate Body, through the Regional Operational Programme 2007 – 2013, Priority Axis 5 – “Sustainable development and promotion of tourism”, Field of intervention 5.1 – “Restoration and sustainable valorization of cultural heritage, setting up and modernization of related infrastructure”.

The project was funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and co-financed by the national budget and with the contribution of Vrancea County Council.

The main objective of the project was to capitalize on the touristic, cultural and historical potential, as well as to increase the number of tourists from the county and the region, in order to stimulate the economic development of Vrancea County and South East Region 2.

The mausoleums from Focsani, Marasesti, Marasti, Soveja were restored, rehabilitated and strengthened, 3 information points were arranged inside the mausoleum, 2 museums were rehabilitated, 1 museum was equipped with modern video and display, 4 mausoleums have been capitalised by modernizing the public lighting system.
